Menorca on bike photos

Menorca is one of the most fascinating Balearic Islands and the least developed one. Its rural interior of red sandstone mountains, green rolling hills and wooded gorges gradually give way to rocky coves, cliffs, idyllic sandy beaches and fishing villages that line the coastline between the grand ports of Mahón and Ciutadella. There are also many archeological remains, megalithic Talayotic structures, medieval palaces and historic churches. Rolling hills, quiet country roads, and many kilometres of unpaved tracks, make cycling one of the best ways to explore this unspoiled Mediterranean island. The unpaved bridle path of Cami de Cavalls (Camino de Caballos) is about 200 km long and extends around the whole island. This track enables tourists, mountain bikers and horse riders to access hidden beaches and coastal woodlands. The northern coastline is more rugged whereas on the south coast, the Camí de Cavalls follows the more gentle countryside passing by tiny isolated coves and longer beaches of sparkling white sand.
