Serra de Llevant, Arta, Cala Mesquida and Cala Ratjada photos

Arta is primarily a traditional residential town with around 6.000 habitants. It is built in the middle of a large valley at the foot of the small mountains called The Serra d'Arta (a part of Serra de Llevant) and dominated by the walled grounds of the magnificent Sanctuary of Sant Salvador from the 14th century. Cala Mesquida is a peaceful small resort located close to Capdepera. Its picturesque sandy beach is about 350 meters long with sand dunes stretching deep inland and crystal clear water. As the beach is quite unprotected, with the wind blowing from the north the waves can get quite big. Cala Ratjada is built on a rocky peninsula on the extreme north east corner of the island, around 65km from the capital Palma. It is an old town with a working port and nice beaches.
