Corsica travel photos (summer 2002)

Corsica (Corse) is one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It is also the most mountaineous island in the Mediterranean Sea formed through volcanic explosions. It's a rock-hard fragile paradise. Its attraction lies in nature: perfect beaches, mountain scenery, fine towns and villages that simply belong in the surrounding landscape and nice rock climbing. Corsica has been occupied continuously since the Mesolithic era. Now it is one of the 26 regions of France. It was once briefly an independent Corsican Republic, until being incorporated into France in 1769. However, as you can experience there, nationalist feelings still run high.
