Gobi-desert

Sainshand is the dusty and remote capital of Dornogov aimag in the East Gobi desert. Khamaryn Monastery lies an hour south of Sainshand. Out of the middle of the sere desert, a series of rippled lava hills rises to form several tiered broad meadows, cut through with steep ravines and hidden caves. It is a beautiful and mystical place full of positive energy. There are about 367.000 camels in Mongolia. These two-humped Bactrian camels are indigenous here. Camels are very useful for long distance transport and valuable because of their adaptability, especially in the desert.
