Indonesia is a volcanic archipelago of over 17,000 islands with a population of more than 200 million, scatterd over a land area of some 2.02 million square kilometers, with 400 volcanoes and at least 70 active volcanos. Most well known cultures/tribes are Sundanese (West Java), Javanese (East Java and Cetral Java), Bataknese (North Sumatra), Balinese (Bali Island), Dayaknese (Kalimantan/Borneo). Language, faith, philosophy and other traditional arts among these tribes are different and have their own unique but have the same language as a nation called Bahasa Indonesia. Batik, Degung, Wayang Golek, Wayang Kulit, Pendet Dance, Jaipong, Reog Ponorogo, Kecak Dance, Saman Dance, Kuda Lumping, Sisingaan, Debus, Angklung are just a few of hundreds of traditional arts that have become a national treasury.
